Originally this page was not planned in the script. It wasn't until I was working on the pencils for the scene that I thought an extra page really focusing on Zaki and his struggle was needed. I lucked out that it meshed so well in the pacing that I did not need to make any changes to the now pages before or after it.
I like the story so far! Your fantasy world is pretty original to me (a desert-based fantasy land is super cool!) and I like the characters.
Blood is usually pretty dark in high concentration, almost black, so making it a dark red/almost black could read as 'blood' a bit better, and not sweet, sweet barbecue sauce :>
I like the touch of the panels becoming warmer colored as Zaki goes to stab the monster, gives it a sense of urgency.
The extra page helps a lot, I think. Too many comics leave me wondering quite how we reached situation B from situation A. This is better. Looks real, too; not in a bad way but with the anatomy and poses all believable.
Glad I was successful. And yes, I've read a number of comics, and even watched some shows where I was like, "Hold on. What?" And then proceeding to go back to see what I missed.
