I'll admit, I had the roughest time with Asad's design at the beginning. But I've got a handle on drawing him now, and really love him.
Since its been a little over a month since I first posted about the break, I just wanted to let everyone know that the treatments have been going well, and the charts from my re-examination look a lot better, and I'm certainly feeling a lot better. I'm now in physical therapy getting my strength back. I've been able to return to working on Messenger, which has been going slow, but steady. I should be able to announce when pages will begin updating again sometime in April or May (they won't start then, but a solid date should be chosen). Until then, please keep enjoying the character designs.
It's really neat to see these character pages. I personally love production art and am one of those people who are obsessed with behind the scenes documentaries. I definitely should be doing these for my comics as well. Good luck drawing without pain in the future.
Thanks. I'm glad to hear that. I know some readers like seeing other work than just pages, and some don't. I'm personally one of those that like to see production stuff myself, as well as seeing an artist grow and their characters and ideas evolve. I always love reading from authors who explain that their story concept was once one way, but while working on it, it developed into something new, which is what they published.
I also think they're fun to show, and make for good filler for times such as this. I figured it was a lot better than just disappearing for a few months.
